Termites cause billions of dollars in damage to Australian homes every year — and most home insurance doesn’t cover it.
Termites — often called white ants — cause more damage to Australian homes each year than floods and fires combined. Unlike fire damage, termite damage is not covered by most standard home insurance policies. In Penrith and surrounding areas, the warm climate and abundance of eucalyptus trees create ideal conditions for termite colonies to thrive.
A professional termite inspection (also called a timber pest inspection) is a thorough examination of your property for evidence of termite activity, termite damage and conditions that favour termite attack. Inspections are carried out to Australian Standard AS4349.3 and include all accessible areas including the subfloor, roof void, internal rooms and external perimeter.
Our inspectors use moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras and termatrac radar devices to detect termite activity hidden inside walls and timbers without causing damage. We look for mud tubes, damaged or hollow-sounding timber, frass (termite droppings) and the presence of live termites or alates (flying termites).
