Meet The Team

Andy The Termite Dog & Jason Our Lead Technician

Early detection is everything. Termites can chew through structural timber for months before a single visible sign appears — and home insurance almost never covers termite damage. That’s why we use the most accurate detection method available in Australia: a trained termite detection dog.

Andy is our termite detection dog. He’s trained to alert exclusively on the pheromones produced by live, active termite colonies — not old workings, not damp timber, not other insects. In controlled trials, detection dogs like Andy hit accuracy rates above 95%, well ahead of moisture-meter-only inspections. He’s calm in occupied homes, safe around kids and pets, and clears a typical Penrith home in under an hour.

Jason is our lead termite technician and the person who interprets every alert Andy gives. With years of hands-on experience identifying Australian subterranean species (Coptotermes, Schedorhinotermes, Nasutitermes), Jason verifies the find, identifies the species, and writes you a fixed-price treatment plan in plain English.

Why a Detection Dog Beats Guesswork

~300 million olfactory receptors vs 6 million in humans

Detects live termites through walls, slabs and timber

95%+ documented accuracy in controlled testing

Non-invasive — no drilling, no damage, no mess

Targets pesticide only where it's actually needed

Covers more ground faster than meter-only inspections

Know The Warning Signs

Eight Signs You May Have Termites

A termite swarm is 99% evidence of an active nest on or near your property. If you spot any of the signs below in your Penrith, Blue Mountains or Western Sydney home — book an inspection today.

Hollow-sounding timber when tapped — floors, skirting boards, door frames

Blistering, darkening or sagging paint on architraves and skirting

Discarded wings near windowsills after a swarm (Oct–Mar)

A faint mouldy or damp smell in cupboards or wall cavities

Mud tubes (leads) running up brick piers, walls or slab edges

Frass — fine sawdust-like pellets near timber or window frames

Doors and windows that suddenly stick or jam

Live workers in garden sleepers, stumps, fence posts or mulch beds

Treatment Systems

If We Find Termites — Here's How We Eliminate Them

We use only the most trusted termite systems available in Australia. Every
recommendation comes with a fixed-price quote, written report and 12-month warranty.

Termidor HE Chemical Barrier

Termidor has been the most trusted termiticide in Australia since 2002. The non-repellent active is undetectable to termites — they pick it up, carry it back to the colony and transfer it through grooming, eliminating the nest at the source. The HE (high-efficiency) formulation extends penetration into the soil for deeper, longer-lasting protection.

Sentricon Always Active

In-ground baiting stations installed roughly every 3 metres around the perimeter of your home. The Always Active termiticide rods last up to 5 years in the ground and start working from day one — no monitoring lag. Perfect for slab-on-ground homes in Glenmore Park, Rouse Hill, Kellyville and other estates where a full chemical barrier is not possible.

Trelona ATBS

The Advance Termite Baiting System is a revolution in baiting technology. Trelona ATBS can be combined with Termidor Residual to give you both an active barrier and ongoing colony elimination — unmatched peace of mind for high-risk properties in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and bushland-fringe Penrith suburbs.

FAQs

Termite Inspection Questions

How often should I have a termite inspection in Penrith?

The Australian Standard AS3660.2 recommends a competent inspection at least every 12 months. For high-risk properties — homes backing onto bushland (Glenmore Park, Leonay, Springwood, Hawkesbury acreage) or properties with prior activity — we recommend every 6 months. One missed year is all it takes for a colony to cause five-figure damage.

Andy is our trained termite detection dog. Dogs have around 300 million olfactory receptors (humans have 6 million) and Andy is trained to alert on the pheromones of live termites — not old damage, not moisture, just active colonies. He can scan a home in a fraction of the time it takes a technician with a moisture meter, and he detects activity hidden inside wall cavities and structural timbers that other methods miss. Andy works alongside Jason, our lead termite technician, who verifies every alert and writes the treatment plan.
Yes. Traditional methods sometimes require drilling into walls to confirm activity. Our thermal imaging, moisture meters and detection dog inspections are completely non-invasive — no holes, no damage, no mess. We only recommend invasive checks when concealed activity is strongly suspected and you give the go-ahead.
Yes. Sentricon Always Active baiting stations are installed in-ground and fully enclosed — pets and children can’t access the bait. Termidor HE is a low-toxicity, non-repellent termiticide applied to soil where people don’t have direct contact. We always discuss safety with you on site before any treatment starts.
