Cockroaches are among Australia’s most common and hardiest household pests. They breed rapidly, contaminate food, spread bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli, and trigger asthma and allergies — especially in children. In Penrith’s warm climate, cockroach populations can explode year-round if left untreated.
Cockroaches hide in cracks, wall cavities and under appliances during the day, only emerging at night. A single female German cockroach can produce up to 300 offspring in her lifetime. Over-the-counter sprays kill only the insects you can see — they do nothing to destroy egg cases or reach hidden colonies.
Look for small dark droppings that resemble ground coffee near food storage areas, a musty odour in cupboards, smear marks along walls, or shed skins in dark corners. Seeing cockroaches during the day is a sign of a heavy infestation, as they are pushed out of hiding when numbers are high.
Small pest problems rarely stay small in Penrith's climate. Cockroaches can contaminate food areas, rodents can damage wiring and insulation, and termites can keep eating structural timber long before the damage is visible. A proactive inspection or treatment costs a fraction of a major infestation.

Professional treatment combines gel bait, residual insecticide and dust applications. Gel bait is highly effective because cockroaches carry it back to the nest, poisoning the entire colony. We target harbourage areas inside wall cavities, under appliances and inside cupboard hinges.
Keep benches and floors free of food debris, store food in sealed containers, fix leaking taps (cockroaches need moisture), seal gaps around pipes, and remove cardboard from storage areas. Regular inspections every 6–12 months catch infestations early. If you’ve spotted signs of an infestation, call us on 0400 733 222 — same-day service is available.
